Ephesians 1:4
“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:”
WILLINGNESS FOR HOLY LIVING
Holy living is primarily a part of God’s eternal plan for us. The main text sounds of another area of willingness which we must expand. This is our willingness for holy living.
We are certain that holy living, when followed, would restore order in society. When this happens, justice, contentment, lasting peace and happiness are not far behind.
We Christians are encouraged to live holy, and not to fear the idea of this kind of life. We must not conclude that because of our fallen nature, it is impossible to live a holy life. Let us not fail to differentiate living-in-sin form falling-to-sin. Everyone indeed has a s tendency to fall to sin once in a while; but sinning as a way of life is entirely different.
Let us bear in mind that God would not command us to do something we are unable to perform. Holy living is feasible, and it is possible by His grace. Our willingness, therefore, for holy living emanates from His saving grace; it enlivens His eternal call; it effuses the existence of our new nature; it escalates our hatred against sin; and it ensures consistent good works. In our pursuit for holy living, we must spend more time to “EXAMINE” our lives and see if we have been doing great strides to live a holy life, not for ourselves but for our God.
Holy living rightfully resides in us who are saved. We are the children of the just and holy God; hence, we ought to exemplify this attribute in our lives. Yes, we can be people who are just, pure, lovely and of good report. WE CAN BECAUSE WE HAVE BEEN MADE PARTAKERS OF THE DIVINE NATURE. WE CAN BECAUSE GOD SAYS WE MUST BE. WE CAN BECAUSE WE LOVE HIM WHO LOVES US.
TRULY WE CAN STRAIGHTEN OUR PAST CROOKED LIVES IF WE ARE WILLING.
EXPAND OUR HORIZON IN OUR WILLINGNESS FOR HOLY LIVING…
